Valente was born and raised in the mountains of Mexico. Because of the influence of Ricardo Garcia Castafieda, he was saved and called to preach at the age of fifteen. Evangelist Garcia was martyred for his faith in 1952. This man’s life and martyrdom had left a tremendous impact on Valente.

At seventeen, Valente began his biblical studies at San Luis Potosí, Mexico. He later relocated to California to continue his studies and begin his training in radio broadcasting. It was during this time that the Lord stirred his heart for the radio ministry.

Upon his return to Mexico, he began his radio ministry at one small station. Never did he expect it to be heard over several stations, covering many states in Mexico. This ministry also opened the door for him to help establish churches and hold numerous conferences. It was then that he saw the need and his heart was burdened for some type of video Bible training in Mexico. Thus, OREMEX Video Bible Courses was started.

Kathy was born in Richmond, Virginia. She was raised in a Pastor’s home (PK) and was saved at the age of four. Throughout her life, she gained much experience in church planting and church related ministries. She plays several musical instruments, writes music and poetry, and has fond memories of being raised in a Pastor’s home.

She attended Indiana Baptist College and became a Christian schoolteacher. Her heart was burdened for missions, and every year she spent her summers on the mission field with two missionary friends in Mexico. It was through this ministry that she and Valente became acquainted.

Valente and Kathy have faithfully spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ within Mexico for many years. They are in church meetings and conferences throughout Mexico. They spend days, weeks, and even months away from home on the road in Mexico.

Valente is the founder of OREMEX Ministries. He travels the Spanish-speaking world as an evangelist. He is also the President of the Aztec Association of Baptist Churches. He legally represents these churches to the Mexican Government and helps them complete their legal documents. He is a spiritual leader and trusted friend to them, and they rely upon him for much counseling.

Pray for Valente and Kathy as they seek to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage the churches in Mexico.
